Welcome to the Rainforest

Outer Limits Adventure Centre in Paluma

Nestled among the clouds in the rainforest lies Paluma Village, only a 90 minute drive north of Townsville. The quaint village is situated at over 900m elevation which provides cooler temperatures all year around. The centre is next door to Gumburu Environmental Education Centre and a short walk from the Paluma Environment Education Centre.

The Outer Limits Adventure Centre was built in 2018 and offers a modern High Ropes course, Low Ropes, Leap of Faith, Glider Possum, Rock Climbing and Bouldering as well as an Obstacle Course. We also offer additional activities at Lake Paluma such as Kayaking, Stand up Paddle Boarding and Raft Building.

Activity Locations

With years of industry experience and unparalleled local knowledge, we can create the ultimate learning environment for your students to challenge themselves and can help them to grow, both individually and as a team. We currently have over 15 different activities on offer, ranging from activities that target soft (Team Games, Beach Olympics, Fishing etc.) and intermediate skills (Archery, Archery Tag, Raft Building etc.), all the way through to advanced skills (Kayaking, SUPing, Abseiling etc.) for experienced adventurers. To help you choose the best adventure for your school, we have provided a list of our activities as a starting point that includes our suggested time allowances, the ideal number of students catered for and the approximate costs. However, we (and our programmes) are flexible and we can work with you to tailor a programme to suit both your school’s and your students’ requirements, including group size and ability, time constraints and budget. We also offer a multi-session discount and can provide risk assessments for each activity upon request.

Alternatively, if you already have a particular activity or experience in mind, please call us – We’re here to help and will do our best to make your Magnetic Island school camp a success.
